Advance notice of changes

Published September 21, 2026. Effective October 22, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

Swipe is giving more than thirty days’ notice under Section 27 of the current Terms. The current Terms and Health Disclaimer remain in effect until the date above. The revisions do not retroactively change existing disputes.

What changes

  • Clearer descriptions of optional AI photo estimates, their accuracy limits, and why they must not be used for allergen safety or medical dosing.
  • Explicit in-app agreement and a dated acceptance record on the device. Optional analytics, photo uploads and exports remain separate choices.
  • Clarification that liability limits do not override rights that cannot legally be waived.
  • Corrected descriptions of analytics, submissions, optional exports, and what uninstalling does and does not delete.

The existing arbitration and class action waiver provisions are retained. Please read the full documents, including Sections 18, 21 and 22; this summary does not replace them.

What happens next

Starting with the agreement update, supported app versions require explicit agreement before you can continue using Swipe. New users agree during onboarding; existing users who have not accepted this revision see an agreement popup. You may be asked to agree before October 22, 2026, but the revised Terms and Health Disclaimer take effect on that date, not on the date you click Agree. Until then, the current Terms and Health Disclaimer remain in effect. If you do not agree, you cannot continue in those updated app versions. Acceptance is saved on your device; the same accepted revision will not require another agreement on its effective date.

Privacy disclosure corrections

The Privacy Policy now more accurately explains current and older-version behavior: persistent analytics identifiers, health and food properties sent by older app versions, optional photo processing, diagnostics, feedback, and exports. These corrections do not authorize new uses of previously collected data or waive privacy rights. A planned app update makes analytics a fresh opt-in and removes sensitive analytics properties; until installed, use Settings → Help Improve Swipe to turn optional analytics off.
